To be competitive today, companies must have the best tools to run their business at top efficiency. Your ERP systems encompass all prospect and customer information; from soliciting new business, presenting a quote, taking the order, manufacturing and servicing the product, to delivering the product, sending the invoice and collecting the payment. Clearly, ERP systems affect the entire company, and few things have more impact on your company’s efficiency.
The issue is that most corporate software buyers may participate in one or two enterprise software negotiations during their entire professional careers. However, armed with accurate information and a well-defined selection process, success can be achieved in a manner that minimizes implementation time, at a fair price and results in overall project success.
Solution Dynamics has extensive experience assisting companies to select and successfully deploy ERP projects specifically for distribution and manufacturing companies.
We can assist in 3 ways:
1) We complete a prospect profile for all prospective clients that will outline their current software systems, top ten business drivers for new software and unique software requirements. We also discuss BANT which is budget, approval authority, need and timeline to insure that they have the components to make an informed and timely decision.
2) For clients requiring a more complete organizational analysis, Solution Dynamics offers a full software system analysis. We meet with each key manager to document their department information needs, their current process and information flow plus sample reports used or desired. The resulting deliverable is a document that provides a comprehensive review by department on all major requirements and how unique requirements can be addressed. This analysis gives client’s a solid understanding of the ERP project and provides reliable project cost estimates.
3) Solution Dynamics also has tools to conduct a comprehensive functional requirements ERP study to develop a detailed list of software functionality by department. This functionality list is then compared to the top software solution vendors to give you a list of who best can meet your requirements. This analysis can be used for an RFP process if appropriate.
Solution Dynamics recommends that all organizations first review the Deloitte & Touche Study (attached) that outlines the top ten criteria companies use to select new ERP software. The study looked at the first time companies selected software and then again after the second time they selected. Companies can save enormous time, money and effort if they simply utilize the criteria from the second selection process identified in this study.
